Science and Design: project of Stieglitz Academy and ITMO University
Science and Design, joint project of the Stieglitz Academy and ITMO University was launched on November 12, 2020. The project allows the masters of the Industrial Design Chair of the Stieglitz Academy to do joint researches together with the students of ITMO University at the facility of INFOCHEM Research and Educational Center.
This is not the first experience of a successful collaboration between designers and young scientists: the projects completed by students of the Stieglitz Academy's industrial design chair have already taken a worthy place in the exposition of ITMO University's scientific achievements, deployed within the walls of the university.
The students’ researches within Science and Design project will focus on predicting development of principles of computational chemistry, liquid computer technology, biomimetic materials, chemometrics and bioelementology in product design.
The professor of INFOCHEM Research and Educational Center, Ekaterina Vladimirovna Skorb, presented the numerous current projects of the center, the researches carried out and their results at the opening ceremony. The professor of Industrial Design Chair of the Stieglitz Academy, Dmitry Mikhailovich Blank, spoke about the variety and synthesis of design methods in industrial design. The Associate Professor of the chair, Sergey Petrovich Helmyanov, did the presentation on organic integrity in design. The master's student of the chair, Ivan Popov, spoke about his experience of the previous joint project between the Stieglitz Academy and ITMO University.
The joint project is coordinated by the students and post-graduate students of INFOCHEM Research and Educational Center, working with the top-level scientists and Nobel laureates. The master's students of the Industrial Design Chair of the Stieglitz Academy will work at the facility for several days; their task is to present a conceptual vision of new technologies application in end products.
